One person has sustained non-life-threatening injuries following a single vehicle crash in Kitchener.
That collision saw emergency crews respond to an LCBO at 721 Ottawa Street South around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the police investigation, the driver of the involved vehicle lost control and struck the front entrance to the store.
That driver has since been identified as a 33-year-old woman. Police said that woman had to be extricated from her vehicle, later transported to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other physical injuries are reported among pedestrians or LCBO staff.
The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
The incident is not the first time the LCBO location has been damaged in a collision, as a “major traffic event” back in 2019 resulted in one fatality.
It was on January 11 when a 40-year-old individual crashed into the building’s wall, claiming their life.
Police later determined alcohol and cannabis to be a factor in that previous collision, leading to 16 Liquor Licence Act charges for staff at a licensed establishment in Kitchener.
