Transportation Safety Board investigating impromptu plane landing in field

There’s no injuries reported after a small plane had to make an unexpected landing in Waterloo Region.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, it happened Thursday morning as the small-engine aircraft touched down on a field in the Fife Road and Chilligo Road area near the Woolwich-Cambridge boundary.

Police responded to the scene and spoke to the pilot, who said they were experiencing a mechanical malfunction and had to make a controlled landing.

There weren’t any passengers in the plane. The incident is under investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
