Collision closes HWY 7 between Kitchener, Guelph

After a nearly six hour closure on Highway 7 in Breslau, we’re learning more about a crash that sent two drivers to hospital, one with serious injuries.

The crash around 4 o clock Tuesday afternoon, saw the Highway between Kitchener and Guelph closed just west of Shantz Station Road, right through the afternoon drive.

It reopened around 10 o clock Tuesday night.

Constable Nicki Morris with the OPP says speed is not a factor at this time, and neither driver was impaired at the time of the crash.

“A 20-year-old man from Kitchener is in hospital with serious injuries … a 55-year-old woman is also in hospital with minor injuries.”

No charges have been laid at this time.

Significant damage was done to both vehicles involved.
