Cambridge man killed in collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga

A portion of Highway 401 Westbound was closed for several hours Saturday morning after a fatal collision in Mississauga.

Ontario Provincial Police report that a 29-year-old man from Cambridge was killed in the crash.

Mississauga OPP is investigating the collision which happened around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

According to OPP, witnesses reported that a White Audi S5 crashed into a Mazda. The driver of the Mazda was the 29-year-old from Cambridge.

The driver of the Audi fled the scene and was last scene running towards Mavis Road. OPP are still searching for the driver of the Audi.

All westbound collectors lanes were closed from Hurontario Street to Mavis Road for around eight hours but have since reopened.
