Extreme Weather Centre: Thursday cancellations

Cancellations for Feb. 23, 2023 — Updated at 10:50 a.m.

PUBLIC AND CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

– Due to weather conditions, all Waterloo Region District School Board and all Waterloo Catholic District School Board schools and sites are closed Thursday. It also means all transportation to those schools is cancelled.

– All before and after school programs and child care centres co-located in schools are closed.

– All programs and services offered by St. Louis Continuing Education and Adult and Learning Centres are cancelled.

FRENCH CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

– Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir has cancelled transportation to its schools in Waterloo Region.

PRIVATE SCHOOLS

– Foundation Christian School in Winterbourne is closed.

– Montessori School of Cambridge is closed.

– Verideia Classic Christian Academy is closed.

– KidsAbility Centre for Child Development is closed.

– KW Montessori School is closed.

– Laurentian Hills Christian School is closed.

– Discipleship Christian Secondary School is closed.

– Koinonia Christian Academy in Bloomingdale is closed.

POST-SECONDARY

– Wilfrid Laurier University’s campuses and locations are closed until 12 p.m. Thursday. Campus community members are encouraged to work from home if possible, and take extra caution if travelling.

– All University of Waterloo campuses will reopen at noon on Thursday.

– All Conestoga College campuses are open.

CHILDCARE CENTRES

– All RisingOaks Early Learning centres are closed.

– St. John's Nursery School in Waterloo is closed.

– Tender Loving Daycare in Cambridge is closed.

– All EarlyON | Waterloo Region sites are closed and all in-person programs are cancelled.

– Early Childhood Education Centre in Waterloo is closed.

– Waterloo Cooperative Preschool is closed.

– Inspiring Minds Early Learning Centre and Inspiring Minds School Age Program both cancelled.
 

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS/EVENTS/PROGRAMS

– City of Cambridge recreation programs are cancelled for Thursday.

– All Waterloo County Secondary School Athletics Association (WCSSAA) sporting events are cancelled and will be rescheduled.

– Community Care Concepts of Woolwich Wellesley and Wilmot has closed its offices and all programs for Thursday.

– The Opportunity Centre of Traverse Independence is closed.

– CMHA's Cambridge site is closed. Will shift to virtual appointments, if possible.
