Redevelopment of Boathouse approved by council

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Redevelopment plans for the Boathouse in Kitchener's Victoria Park have been approved by city council.

Local group Walkinshaw Holdings is going to revamp the building as a live music, food, and entertainment venue.

According to a news release from the city, there will be paid local live music a minimum two days a week, as well as locally sourced food and drink.

Renovations will include enhancing the views of Victoria Park Lake, expanding the outdoor patio, and new planter beds.

The plans were also approved by the Heritage Committee back in October.

Construction is expected to start early in the new year, with doors opening to the public by next summer.
