Kitchener man facing long list of weapon, drug charges

A break and enter investigation has resulted in a long list of charges for a Kitchener man.

The investigation was launched in November after a break-in on Grenville Avenue.

On December 5, a man was arrested on King Street East.

After the arrest, officers located a large quantity of drugs, including suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as a loaded firearm, cellphones and scales. 

A 29-year-old man has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break, enter and commit
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (five counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose 
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Occupy motor vehicle knowing a firearm is present
  • Possess a restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order (four counts)
  • Careless storage of a firearm

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
