Youth charged after firing ‘gel blaster gun’ at Cambridge store staff, shoppers

A Cambridge youth is facing weapon-related charges following an incident at a Cambridge store on Friday.
It was around 9:45 p.m. when police were called to the area of Cedar Street and Osborne Street for reports of four youths shooting employees and customers with an airsoft gun at a store.
Police later determined that one of the involved youths was in possession of a “gel blaster gun”, and had struck employees and customers with projectiles fired from the device.
While no physical injuries are reported as a result of the incident, a Cambridge youth has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Anyone with information that could assist police in their investigation is asked to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
