Kitchener setting up mobile indoor skatepark

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

It's a way kids and teens can beat the winter blahs.

The City of Kitchener has announced the city's first indoor drop-in skatepark.

It will be open every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Queensmount Arena, to those eight years of age and older.

The supervised skatepark will feature ramps, a fly-over box and grind rails. The city has posted a sneak peak on Instagram.

The cost is $2 per person. Helmets are also mandatory. The skatepark will run through until March 9, 2023 (Holiday closure from Dec. 15 to Jan. 12).

The city also says outdoor skateparks at The Aud, McLennan Park and Fischer Park will also remain open through the winter (weather dependent).
