Kitchener youth arrested in connection with shots fired at St. Mary’s high school

Police have arrested a Kitchener youth following an investigation into Friday's shooting incident, outside of St. Mary’s High School in Kitchener.

The youth was arrested yesterday and charged with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Point Firearm
  • Intimidation- use violence
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Discharge firearm- recklessness
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

They were also held for a bail hearing.

According to a release, police worked in partnership with St. Mary’s High School and the Waterloo Catholic District School Board to ensure safety measures were in place and are “grateful to all staff and students for their role in ensuring the hold and secure protocol was carried out successfully.”

The investigation is ongoing.
