Dibaajimowin exhibit opens at Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum

A new multimedia exhibition opened at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum on Friday.
Dibaajimowin: Stories from this Land explores the oral histories of the region as told through local Indigenous voices.
It's curated by Emma Rain Smith who is Aniishnaabe from Walpole Island First Nations. She is also a Fine Arts graduate from the University of Waterloo who is working on her Masters in Indigenous History.

The exhibition highlights Indigenous stories of and contributions to the history of this land, often overlooked in favour of a well-established settler narrative. It includes a set of murals painted by Selwyn Dewdney. It also includes objects, photographs and art, as well as contemporary works by local Indigenous artists

An official opening ceremony will take place at the museum on Tuesday, September 27 at 6 p.m.
