Fallout from cyber incident creating pay issues for some public school board employees
The Waterloo Region District School Board is still working through issues from a cyber incident earlier this month.
It's impacting automated pay deposits. It means some WRDSB employees will be paid Friday, and some won't.
“Since we are still not fully functional we do have some employees who will not receive pay this Friday. We will process those payments as soon as we have full access to our systems.” Eusis Dougan-McKenzie, a board spokesperson, said in an email to CityNews.

Dougan-McKenzie added they are working on a resolution. Any employees who have questions are being asked to email — payroll_questions@wrdsb.ca.
The board is also working to provide Service Canada with records of employment for those staff who submit employment insurance claims.
In an email sent to parents earlier this month, the board says it was made aware of the cyber incident on July 10, and an unauthorized person accessed and removed certain data from their systems.
That same email states, WRDSB believes any risk to students' sensitive information is low.
