Waterloo Park hosting Canada Day celebrations

By Jonathan Strom

This Canada Day, Waterloo Park will be hosting a community picnic featuring music, games and food.

The event will begin Friday at 4 p.m and runs until 10:30 p.m on the west side of the park near the Bandshell.

Local musicians will be featured on the main stage throughout the afternoon, and evening.

Additionally, there will be programming during the day including an art installation called #HopeAndHealingCanada. The installation is created by Métis Artist Tracey-Mae Chambers, and uses red yarn to illustrate the connection between people and their environment.

Several different food trucks, and activities will also be available during the day.
