Waterloo Regional Police are out with a reminder to stay smart when it comes to keeping your bike safe.
The force says there were 44 bikes stolen in May alone.
They are reminding cyclists to take two photos of their bikes, one with them and their bike and one with the bike's serial number.
This helps police return recovered bikes to their rightful owners a lot quicker.
The news Friday, comes during Bike Safety month, which takes place every June.
WRPS received 44 bike theft reports in May.
We encourage cyclists to take two photos: one of them with their bike and one with the bike's serial number.
By doing this, in the event that your bike is stolen, it can easily be returned to its rightful owner.#SnapNSave pic.twitter.com/gCBEfyuOW8
