Kelly Kipfer will become the next CEO of the Waterloo Public Library Board. She will take over on August 29.

The announcement was made Wednesday by the library board.

Kipfer joined the WPL in 2013 as the manager of community engagement and children's services.

“The board is thrilled with what Kelly brings to this leadership role – her extensive experience with the Waterloo Public Library, a track record of successful community partnerships, and a demonstrated commitment to creating a library system for all – will serve us and the community well, moving into the future,” Karen Coviello, chair of the library board said in a news release.

Kipfer will replace Laurie Clarke, who is retiring this month after 12 years as CEO.
