Serious injuries reported after collision in Waterloo

Regional police continue to investigate following a collision involving a pedestrian in Waterloo.
The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 11:40 p.m. near the intersection of University Avenue East and Bridge Street West, prompting a response from emergency services.
According to police, a pedestrian was trying to cross University Avenue East after disembarking from a Grand River Transit bus, only to be struck by an Acura heading eastward on University Avenue.
A 19-year-old man from Waterloo has since been transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Traffic Services Unit continue to investigate, and charges are pending. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
