The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is issuing some reminders when it comes to masking rules.
While the provincial mask mandate was lifted for schools on March 21, there are still circumstances where face-coverings are required.
Under federal rules, masks need to be worn for 14 days after international travel.
Additionally, if a student's household member has COVID-19 or the student is a close contact of a positive case, they have to wear a mask for 10 days after their last exposure.
If a student has tested positive or developed symptoms, they also need to wear a mask for 10 days in addition to any self-isolation requirements.
A message from the WRDSB said there's additional steps students need to take if they are still required to wear a mask under any of the rules, including avoiding activities where they would need to take off their face-covering. That can include music classes or recreational activities.
