Despite some freezing rain in the forecast Wednesday, students in Waterloo Region will be taking the bus to school.
However, when there are days that the Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region decide to take their buses off area roadways, both the Waterloo Region District School Board and Waterloo Catholic District School Board have updated its policies to pre-pandemic times.
Both boards said schools will remain open if buses are cancelled, unless the situation calls for schools to close as well.
The WRDSB released a list of five scenarios it will revert to when severe weather moves into the area, which you can view HERE.
The WCDSB didn't go into a detailed explanation, but you can view the board's full statement on its website.
The WCDSB added they do their best to announce any closures and cancellations by 6 a.m.
The WRDSB said if you don't see anything posted online by 6 a.m., it is a regular school day.
