The Ministry of Health is reviewing the future of the province's free COVID-19 rapid test distribution program.
On February 9, the province announced it would allow grocery stores and pharmacies to hand out the testing kits free of charge.
Since then, more than 39-million rapid antigen tests have been distributed through over 3,100 retail locations.
When the program first launched, the province expected it to last eight weeks — which would be until Wednesday, April 6.
In an e-mail statement to CityNews 570, The Ministry of Health said it's currently reviewing the continuation of the program, and is also awaiting confirmation of continued rapid test procurement support from the federal government.
