GRCA conservation areas to start taking reservations March 15

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Camping season is just a few months away.

On Wednesday, the Grand River Conservation Authority announced that it will begin taking online reservations as of March 15 at 8 a.m. They can also be made by phone by calling 1-877-558-4722, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., seven days a week.

They are also launching a new reservation system, which GRCA says is focused on an improved customer experience.

GRCA has over 2,000 campsites throughout the Grand River watershed.

Despite the fact many COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, the authority says some operational limitations will remain in place.

“Conservation areas will continue to manage day-use capacity and guests will be asked to follow all local public health guidelines. Swimming pools at Brant and Byng Island conservation areas and the splash pad at Elora Gorge Conservation Area will reopen this summer.” GRCA stated in a news release.
