More members of Waterloo Regional Police will be heading to Ottawa in the coming days to assist the police service in the nation's capital.
A spokesperson for WRPS tells CityNews 570, a full-time staff sergeant has already been helping Ottawa police with integrated planning — relating to the ongoing occupation and protests.
On Thursday, Chief Bryan Larkin gave the approval for additional support.
Members from the local police service will be deployed between February 18 and February 23.
Regional police officers were also sent to Windsor last week to help clear the blockade at the Ambassador Bridge.
