Suspect wanted in Kitchener robbery from Saturday

UPDATED RELEASE:

The Waterloo Regional Police Service's Robbery Unit is continuing to investigate a robbery that occurred in the area of Kingsway Drive and Wilson Avenue in Kitchener.

Investigators are looking to identify and speak to this individual in connection to this incident.

The investigation is ongoing.

PREVIOUS RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On January 8, 2022, at approximately 2:45 p.m., police responded to the area of Kingsway Drive and Wilson Avenue for a report of a robbery.

Two employees confronted a suspect that had shoplifted for a business. The suspect brandished a knife and fled the area on a stand up electric scooter.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’ tall, 20 to 30 years old, and had facial hair. The male was wearing a black jacket with a fur lined hood, blue jeans, black shoes, and a blue Los Angeles Dodgers hat. The electric scooter had a thick running board with white lettering.

There were no physical injuries reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
