NEWS RELEASE
REGION OF WATERLOO
*************************
At regional vaccination clinics across Waterloo Region, there is capacity right now for residents to get an earlier first, second or third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Anyone who has an appointment later this month or in February is strongly encouraged to get an earlier appointment to increase their protection against the Omicron variant.

Some regional vaccination clinics will also be accepting walk-ins, as capacity allows:

The Moderna vaccine is being given to adults 30 years of age and older at regional vaccination clinics. Pfizer is not currently available for this age group. Residents are strongly encouraged to take the first mRNA vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer) available to them. Moderna is safe and highly effective, and there is emerging evidence that Moderna induces somewhat higher antibody levels and its protection may be more durable than Pfizer.

Residents can book an appointment for a vaccine at a regional vaccination clinic on the Region of Waterloo website: regionofwaterloo/GetaVaccine
