NEWS RELEASE
WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY
*************************
In accordance with provincial guidance received on Jan. 3, 2022, postsecondary institutions (including residences) are not currently on the list of “highest-risk settings.” Public Health has indicated that positive tests for individuals affiliated with postsecondary institutions no longer need to be reported.
With the province halting mass PCR testing and public health prioritizing case and contact management for only the highest-risk settings, it has been decided that Laurier will no longer track confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our website as this information will no longer be accurate.
Laurier continues to be committed to the health and safety of our students, staff and faculty. The mandatory vaccination policy remains in effect throughout the winter 2022 term. Those who are visiting campus are also required to complete the self screening assessment each day through the SafeHawk app and to comply with all safety protocols.
For what to do if you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, please refer to covid-19.ontario.ca/exposed. Anyone within the Laurier community experiencing symptoms should follow the appropriate protocols:
