Two Cambridge residents charged in connection with death of infant

Waterloo Regional Police have made two arrests in connection with an investigation involving the death of a child.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Byton Lane in Cambridge the afternoon of May 4 after receiving a 911 call about a one-year-old boy in distress.
The child was located without vital signs. He was taken to hospital, but was later pronounced deceased.
Through their investigation, with assistance from the coroner's office, police determined the child's death was caused by a drug overdose.
On October 27, a 27-year-old woman and 38-year-old man, both from Cambridge were arrested. They have both been charged with criminal negligence causing death.
The accused are due to appear in a Kitchener court on Wednesday.
Police say the accused are also related to the victim.
