He's been struggling to find the scoresheet as of late, but Wednesday night was a special one for Kitchener's Mark Scheifele.
With an assist on Blake Wheeler's third period goal, the Winnipeg Jets' assistant captain, picked up his 500th NHL point. The 28-year-old had not collected any points in three games prior.
But despite his recent struggles, he still has 56 points in 52 games this season.
Scheifele was a first round pick of the Jets in 2011. In 571 games, he has 199 goals and 301 assists.
With a 4-0 win over Calgary on Wednesday, the Jets also snapped an ugly seven-game losing streak and clinched a playoff spot.
Toronto and Edmonton have also locked down playoff spots in the North Division.
