Trinity Village granted new long-term care beds

Some more long-term care beds are heading to Waterloo Region. Trinity Village has been awarded licences for 60 new long-term care beds.

The Village will be adding new spaces by expanding the facilities on their current property. These new beds will help families, and residents access the support and high-quality care needed while reducing wait lists. Trinity Village is one of two projects awarded in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Trinity Village's announcement is part of a larger, $933-million investment by the Ontario government to expand its long-term care homes.

COO of Trinity Village Debby Riepert says the area was estimated to be under serviced by over 500 long-term care beds. She adds, “these new beds help reduce that shortfall by utilizing Trinity Village's innovative, needs-driven services.”

“We will start engaging our community in Trinity Village and expanding it to the broader community. We will make sure we address the people's concerns and what they would like to see in terms of long-term expansion. We will also involve the people so that there is a lot of task force in the community.”

“The Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care's awarding of these new bed spaces confirms the confidence they have in Trinity Village's caring staff and operational expertise in long-term care homes,” said Glenn Smith, Board Chair Trinity Village.

Details of the property development to accommodate the newly awarded bed licences are not finalized. Riepert adds it will support our mission to be “a caring community which values and fosters the worth and lifestyle of all.” Trinity Village cultivates a family of caring individuals committed to serving our residents, families, staff, volunteers, and communities.
