Region announces locations of COVID vaccination clinics

We now know where the two large public health vaccination clinics will be set up, where residents of Waterloo Region can receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The clinics will be located at:
- 435 The Boardwalk, Medical Centre 2, Waterloo
- RONA, 66 Pinebush Road, Cambridge
The region says the clinics will play a critical role in its targeting of delivering 10,000 or more doses each day.
The clinic at The Boardwalk will open in early March, where adults 80 and older will be able to get the vaccine as they were recently added to Phase One of the province's rollout plan.
Modifications are still being made to the RONA site in Cambridge so it can operate as a clinic.
The local vaccine distribution task force says as the vaccine supply stabilizes, additional small to mid-size clinics will open in primary care offices, pharmacies and other community locations.
“The Waterloo Vaccine Distribution Task Force is grateful to the partners and community groups supporting the vaccine rollout at various clinic locations across Waterloo Region,” said Shirley Hilton, Deputy Chief for Waterloo Region Police Service and head of the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force. “Residents of the community will be directed to the most appropriate and accessible clinic using a regional booking system through which they can pre-register according to their eligibility for the vaccine.”
The region is also thanking SmartCentres, the landlord for RONA.
SmartCentres is offering free vacant space, to health units across the country in order to help accelerate the vaccination process.
