Special education students within public system can attend in-person classes as of Monday

The Waterloo Region District School Board has provided more information when it comes to students enrolled in special education classes.
The board points out that Special Education Students in specific Secondary and Elementary Congregated Classes, will have the opportunity to attend in-person learning beginning on Monday, January 11.
- Elementary Congregated Classes include: ACE
- Secondary Congregated Classes include: ACE, Bridges, New Dawn, Z By The Y and Alternative Education
The Ministry of Education provided an update to school boards on Friday.
“We appreciate that these updates are complex and are occurring with short notice to families. We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep WRDSB students and families updated, so please ensure you are subscribed to your school’s website and any other communication channels.” the school board said in a news release.
If you have any questions, you are being asked to contact your child's school.
Students not in special education classes will continue with online learning until at least January 25.
