Grand River Hospital dealing with another COVID-19 outbreak

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Grand River Hospital is reporting another COVID-19 outbreak.

It's in the medicine unit '5North' after two patients and two staff members tested positive.

It comes as another active outbreak is in effect in the '5South' medicine unit.

An outbreak was recently lifted in the hospital's '5Centre' unit earlier this week.

A release from Grand River sent out on Thursday said, “Outbreaks on the 5th floor have impacted 11 patients and 17 staff members to date, including fewer than 5 patient deaths.”

A number of measures are in place at the hospital, including frequent cleaning and temporarily closing admissions to the affected units.
