Thousands affected by power outages in Waterloo Region (update)

Sunday's wet, windy weather led to multiple power outages in Waterloo Region.
Thousands of customers were affected in the Kitchener, Ayr, Cambridge, Waterloo, St. Agatha, and St. Jacobs areas.
Power has been restored to the majority of customers but restoration times vary, with some homeowners still in the dark as of Monday morning.
Trees, branches, and debris were blamed for the outages, which also led to a few road closures. Parks, trails, and conservation areas run by the Grand River Conservation Authority were also closed Monday for the clean-up.

Literally “breaking” news….A massive gust of wind with thunder and rain just came through Cambridge and broke off half of our willow tree. Fence smashed but no thankfully no one was around, and damage to neighbours’ beyond torn eavestrough. @680NEWSweather @680NEWS @570NEWS pic.twitter.com/8ILF78iCGc
