Diabetes Canada looking for used clothing donations

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Diabetes Canada is seeking your used clothing donations.

The organization is hosting a touchless curbside drop off event outside of the Giant Tiger store at 351 Margaret Avenue in Kitchener from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m, on Saturday, October 24.

Masked volunteers will collect bagged or boxed clothing from vehicle trunks.

It's one of ten events being held across the country to mark Waste Reduction Week.

Each year, Diabetes Canada diverts 100 million pounds of clothing and small household items from ending up in a landfill.

For those who can't make it Saturday, the organization also offers home pick up service or items can be deposited in a donation bin.

All net proceeds from the clothing donations will go to the charitable work of Diabetes Canada and the support it provides to 11 million Canadians with diabetes and prediabetes.
