Fear Farm transforming haunted houses into ‘haunted trails’ this fall

Fear Farm will not be the same this year, in terms of location. The haunted houses will be transformed into “haunted trails” or “haunted experiences”.
Meghan Snyder says indoor haunted houses are not in the cards this year, so changes have had to be made.
“We're so lucky that we have 24 acres of guest space. We have a 14 acre pumpkin patch – we have so much room. It's outdoor, it provides something – it enriches people's lives. As long as our team felt that we could do that safely for us, for our guests and for our community, and we're really proud that we can.”
Snyder says the farm is connected to other farms from around the globe, and they've been learning from their experiences during COVID-19.
“As we watch farms in the UK open and operate, even as far as New Zealand, we've learned a lot from what they're doing. And certainly this year, indoor haunted houses for Fear Farm for example, just won't happen.”
That said, the indoor haunted house has made way to outdoor haunted trails around the Snyder's property, so while the venue is different, the experience will remain the same.
Another new option this fall includes a personal campfire for your social bubble to enjoy together.
“You work so hard on an idea, and you don't know what it will actually look like – and it was so new for us. We had a family come out two weekends in a row, they've never had a campfire. The experience for them was amazing, and to know that we were a part of that, it can bring tears to your eyes.”
Tickets are only available on Snyder's website this year, so be sure to purchase yours ahead of your trip to the farm, as walk-ins will not be permitted.
They also ask you bring a mask if you plan on using restrooms or cannot maintain physical distancing.
