Outbreak now over at Forest Heights Revera long-term care home

An almost three month long COVID-19 outbreak at Forest Heights Revera long-term care home in Kitchener has been declared over.
It had been active since April 1.
51 residents at Forest Heights passed away during the outbreak.
Sunnyside Home (long-term) remains the only active outbreak – one resident and four staff members have tested positive for the virus.
Meantime, the local health department reported six new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday morning.
It means there have now been a total of 1,299 cases.
Nine more cases are resolved, improving that total to 1,094.
Meantime, there are 89 active cases, which is three fewer than Monday.
The number of deaths linked to the virus remains at 116.
The region also debuted a new feature on its dashboard on Tuesday, a map that shows the distribution of cases by neighbourhood.
But the acting medical officer of health said they will not be publishing cases of five or less in a given neighbourhood to protect personal health information.
“My message would continue to be that people have to assume that anywhere they are in the region, they could acquire COVID-19, and the best way to protect themselves is to follow the recommended public health measures.” said Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang.
