By Erin Anderson

The investigation continues after a serious head-on crash on Highway 7/8 through Baden.

It happened Tuesday morning just after 5:30 a.m.

Provincial police said it involved a car and a transport truck.

The driver of the car was sent to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

They have been identified as a 62-year-old man from Kitchener-Waterloo.

The transport truck ended up in the ditch, but the driver wasn't harmed.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said a third vehicle was involved as well. It was forced into the ditch as the driver tried to avoid hitting the transport truck.

Highway 7/8 was completely closed for several hours between Nafziger Road and Wilmot Centre for the investigation. It has since reopened.
