Colour Paradise Greenhouses also won’t reopen to walk-in customers

By Erin Anderson

Colour Paradise Greenhouses has chosen to err on the side of caution.

It said despite this week's announcement from the provincial government, it will not be opening its doors.

Premier Doug Ford had stated garden centres and greenhouses in Ontario could reopen Friday, as long as they implemented physical distancing procedures and could guarantee customers' safety.

However, Colour Paradise in Petersburg said it doesn't want to take the risk, and will continue to serve its customers through delivery and curbside pick-up only.

“While we'd love to see your excited smiles when you visit us at the greenhouse, for the time being, we feel [this is] the safest action for all of us right now,” said Colour Paradise Greenhouses on its website.

Colour Paradise isn't the only business to make this tough call.

Belgian Nursery in Breslau made a similar announcement this week, and Warren Greenhouses in Kitchener is also sticking to delivery and curbside pick-up only.
