Kick-off Sports Bar in Waterloo closing permanently

The Kick-off Sports Bar & Cafe first opened in 1999.
The owner announced in a Facebook post on Tuesday, “Due to financial position and uncertain recovery time. I have made the decision to permanently close the bar down.”
The establishment is located at 170 University Avenue West in Waterloo.
The pub suffered major losses when the COVID-19 pandemic was declared.
The owner, Troy, thanked all past patrons.
“A true cast of characters. Everyone one brought their own individual lives together in an small little bar. We had some amazing times, a few bad moments and like life just a lot of average days that were made better by engaging in a fun community.”
Troy added he will be cleaning the bar out over the next few weeks. If anyone is in need of items like glassware, it can be picked up curbside. You can send a message to the 'Kickoff Waterloo' Facebook page if you are interested.
