Another local player is making his way to the Ontario Hockey League.

On Friday, the Oshawa Generals announced the signing of forward Cooper Way.

The Waterloo native had 8 goals and 17 assists in 46 regular season games with the GOJHL's Elmira Sugar Kings.

He was a fourth round pick (78th overall) of the Generals in the 2019 OHL draft.

“Very excited to have Cooper committed to the hockey club,” Gens Vice President and General Manager, Roger Hunt said in a release.

“He is having a great season with Elmira and we are looking forward to getting him in Generals colours. He will be a big part of our future as we move forward.” Hunt added.

Way is expected to make his OHL debut Friday when Oshawa plays in Kingston.

He will wear number 14.
