Don't know what to do with a Christmas tree after the holidays? The Region of Waterloo can help with that.
The Region's 'tree-cycle' program is back and will kick-off on Jan. 6th till Jan. 17th.
Residents who purchased a natural Christmas tree can leave their tree by the curb to be collected at 7 a.m.
In order for the region to pick up a tree, residents must remove all lights, ornaments and cut trees longer than six feet in half.
Christmas trees should not be bagged and should be place in a visible and accessible location for collection crews.
Residents who miss the collection period can recycle their tree at a Regional waste management site, but fees will apply.
Artificial Christmas trees sent to the curb for collection will count as one bulky item, which will go to the region's landfill.
