Waterloo city council has approved funding for the construction of the East Side Branch Library.
Ground breaking is set for the spring. The facility is expected to open in July 2021.
The funding approval was given on Monday night after library officials unveiled the final design of the yet-to-be-named library, which will be an addition to the RIM Park Manulife Sportsplex.
In a release, Laurie Clarke, Waterloo Public Library's CEO said, “As always, working with City staff has been a great experience and the entire project team continues to work diligently and enthusiastically on such an important initiative for our community.”
Total cost of the project is $10 million.
