**Environment Canada ended the freezing rain warning in Waterloo Region at 1:48 p.m.**
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Region of Waterloo.
The weather agency says several hours of freezing rain and ice pellets are expected, tapering off to freezing drizzle or flurries in the afternoon.
Strong wind gusts up to 70 km/h will go along with that rain, which they warn could cause power outages.
A reminder that roads, sidewalks and parking lots could become slippery with black ice.
The surrounding areas of Guelph, Erin, Mount Forest, Arthur and North and South Wellington Counties are also affected.
