Volunteers needed to deliver local Christmas Hampers

By Erin Anderson

The House of Friendship is looking for some good-hearted volunteers.

Jennifer Scott is Volunteer Manager and said they need help delivering Christmas Hampers in the next few weeks.

“We're looking for people December 12, 13 and 14th .. and then December 16, 17 and 18th.”

Scott said there are already about 500 volunteers signed up to deliver the hampers, but they need about 300 more.

“We need a lot of people to deliver the Christmas Hampers. Typically, the entire operation uses about 1,200 volunteers. All of the hampers are delivered in pairs, and each route that a volunteer team delivers has about five to seven households in it.”

Scott said over the span of a week or so, they drop off food hampers to about 4,000 families.

It won't take much of your time either.

“Volunteering will only take about an hour and a half of your time. The program is very important, everyone needs food over the holiday season.”
