This fall, Kitchener will host a slew of top Canadian performers. Grammy-nominated artists and handfuls of home-grown talent from a variety of genres will grace the stage of The Centre in the Square (CITS).

“Once again, we are bringing the best Canadian talent to Kitchener and to our stage,” says Greg Henderson, Director of Programming.

After a week of Multi-platinum GRAMMY, JUNO Award and Polaris Prize-nominated singer/songwriters that include CARLY RAE JEPSEN, DEAN BRODY and DALLAS SMITH music lovers can look forward to an incredible lineup of concerts coming to Kitchener.

On October 17, a triple bill of well-loved Canadian acts-COWBOY JUNKIES, along with THE SKYDIGGERS & LEE HARVEY OSMOND-hits CITS stage. One of these bands is usually a hot ticket, but it's rare to get all three on the same stage on the same night.

November will also be a month to remember. First, WALK OFF THE EARTH touch down in town on Friday, November 8. This Burlington-band exploded on the charts after a YouTube video cover of Goyte's “Somebody – Used to Know” with all members playing one guitar went viral. The band lost their keyboardist Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor last year, and are carrying on with their fun and quirky indie pop in his honour.

The next night (November 9) MATT MAYS brings his Howl at the Night tour to the stage with special guest SKYE WALLACE, an artist to watch. Mays offers a taste of what to expect: “It will be a journey through songs, old and new; the evening will start off woody and mellow and finish electric and stormy.”

Mellow, woody, and a little stormy can also describe Toronto-based BEDOUIN SOUNDCLASH. After a nine-year hiatus, the reggae duo is back on the road and bringing with them a new record Mass, which arrives in October. Their fifth studio album is a sonic journey that was brewed and stewed over the course of three weeks in an old New Orleans jazz speakeasy they converted into a studio. They will perform the results of these powerful Louisiana spiritual sessions live at CITS on November 14.

On November 21, perennial favourite Jim Cuddy returns to Kitchener as part of his Countrywide Soul tour to play a mix of beloved Blue Rodeo hits, and selections off his latest album.

Wrapping up 2019 will be vocal-powerhouse Serena Ryder who will hit the big stage as part of her Christmas Kisses Tour on December 16.

While 2019 features an amazing line up of Canadian artists, 2020 looks incredibly promising as Centre In The Square prepare for their 40th Anniversary, and kick things off with The Strumbellas and Neon Dreams on January 30.

“We are proud to present so many cherished and up-and-coming Canadian artists as part of our 2019-2020 season schedule,” says Henderson
