GEOPAP Restaurants Inc., which operates Chicago Pub and Billiards in Kitchener, two owners and a staff member, are facing 16 charges under the Liquor Licence Act in connection with a fatal crash from January.

Waterloo Regional Police allege the driver of a vehicle had left a licensed establishment prior to the collision and that alcohol and marijuana were contributing factors to the crash.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. on Friday, January 11 in the Alpine Centre.

Police said an SUV struck the LCBO in the plaza, causing structural damage to the building.

A 40-year-old Kitchener man was pronounced dead at the scene.
