With ‘Second Act,’ Jennifer Lopez makes her own opportunity

LOS ANGELES — Jennifer Lopez already has one major fan in her new film “Second Act.”
She says her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez told her he related to her underdog character, Maya, who misses out on opportunities because she doesn’t have a college degree. Lopez said that despite all of his professional successes, he still feels inadequate for not having gone to college.
In the film, her business savvy character gets a shot to prove herself to Madison Avenue’s elite thanks to an embellished resume.
“Second Act” opens in theatres nationwide Friday.
