Rangers unveil Remembrance Day jersey (3 photos)

By Blair Adams

The Kitchener Rangers will wear a jersey inspired by the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice, which marked the end of World War I.

The front crest features a dove, which is a symbol of peace.

A bell is on the right shoulder of the jersey. Church bells rang as an outpouring of relief that the war had come to an end.

These are the jerseys the Rangers will wear during their game on Friday, November 9, when they host Sarnia.

Fans will be able to purchase them through a silent auction that will happen during the game.

The proceeds will benefit both the 78th Fraser Highlanders Fort Conestoga Garrison and the K-W Poppy Fund.

The 1596 Army Cadets will have poppies at all entrances before that game and the one on Sunday, November 4 vs. London.
