Three people have been sent to hospital after a T-bone crash in Mapleton Tuesday afternoon.

Wellington County OPP responded to the scene just after 1:00 p.m., along with Mapleton Fire/Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services.

It happened at the intersection of Wellington Road 7 and Wellington Road 12, just south of Arthur, and involved a sedan and a transport.

“Initial reports indicated that a northbound sedan travelling on Wellington Road 7 collided with a transport truck that entered the intersection while travelling westbound on Wellington Road 12,” OPP stated in a release.

A baby boy, one, who was in the sedan, was sent to hospital along with a woman, 29.  Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the sedan, 52, was sent to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

All three are from Palmerston, and police say the three are related to one another.

The driver of the transport was not hurt.

Police are asking people to avoid the area, as they continue to investigate.
