Eastbound 401 reopens in west-end of Mississauga following fatal collision (update)

A 45-year-old man has been killed in a serious collision involving three transport trucks that shut down the eastbound 401 in Mississauga for more than four hours.
OPP say a gravel hauler crashed into the back of a tractor trailer carrying camper trailers at Winston Churchill Boulevard, just before noon Tuesday, causing the tractor trailer to rear-end a van trailer.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the driver of the gravel hauler is dead. He is from Richmond Hill.
There was a complete closure of the highway on the eastbound side between Winston Churchill and Mississauga Road, for a police investigation and a small oil spill.
An OPP reconstruction team was on scene trying to figure out the cause of the crash, although Schmidt says the weather and road conditions do not appear to have been factors.
The westbound lanes remained open, but traffic was heavy through the area, as drivers slowed down to get a closer look.
