PM says Canada won’t be bullied into new NAFTA deal

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he understands that the U-S is eager to wrap up the North American Free Trade Agreement negotiations, and Canada is just as enthusiastic to get things finished.

But he stresses Canada will not be bullied into a deal.

Trudeau is touring Canadian steel and aluminium companies to show support for workers concerned that an exemption from American steel and aluminum tariffs is only temporary.

The U-S has hinted that the decision to excuse Canada and Mexico from the tariffs on steel and aluminum might be dependent on the result of trade negotiations.
