Guelph support worker charged with sexual assault

A local support worker has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Guelph.

Police started investigating back on November 29, after a minor made a complaint against a 23-year-old woman.

Brittany Hastings has since been arrested, and faces charges including sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

Hastings was employed as a support worker with ‘Avalon Horizon’, which provides mental health services to local children and teens.

Guelph Police say Avalon Horizon Inc. has been fully cooperative during this investigation, and the alleged incidents occurred between March and October of this year.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact Guelph Police at 419-824-1212 ext. 7441 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
